As a therapist for over 15 years, there have been many times when I’ve sat across from clients and wished I could simply press “pause” on their lives—just long enough for them to truly focus on their healing. Life doesn’t stop when you’re carrying the heavy burden of trauma, that is why Intensives have increased in popularity. Responsibilities, relationships, and stress continue to build, making it difficult to dive deeply into the healing process during traditional, weekly therapy sessions. Intensive sessions allow clients to engage in deep, focused therapeutic work over a short period of time, promoting faster and more profound healing.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR works by helping the brain process traumatic memories in a way that reduces their emotional intensity. Through guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, EMDR facilitates the reprocessing of traumatic memories, allowing clients to desensitize the emotional charge associated with those memories.
